The size of the room was great, the bed was comfortable and it was nice and clean. The rooms aren't brand new but are very comfortable. Great attention to detail and everything was super tidy. First the pros: I loved the feel of the lodge - the decorations were perfect inside and out. There are a lot of wonderful things about the property but let's face it, the horses are the real attraction and this part of the trip was a huge disappointment. I have been wanting to go to this property for years and had such high hopes and expectations.

We can't wait to come back and bring along others! Thank you, THANK YOU, for such an amazing time!… To the staff at the Rocking Horse Ranch, you made a repeat customer out of our family. Your surprise for us at dinner was the icing on the cake. Finally, I want to thank General Manager, CJ. It was cooked to perfection! It was a midtown New York quality cut of meat, tender and juicy! My wife and the kids all enjoyed their meals. The food was unbelievable! I had a New York strip steak the night we arrived. The two entertainers (yo-yo and comedy the first night and juggling and comedy the second night) were a hit! Well done. The only two people who I didn't get names were the woman who ran karaoke on December 28th (she was GREAT) and the singing cowboy by the fireplace on the evening of December 29th (he was also fantastic). Anthony and Mia in the stables ensured our son was safe on his two horseback riding sessions.
ROCKING HORAE HOW TO
Abby in winter sports was patient and taught our son with Down syndrome how to ski (even if he only did if for 15 minutes on the beginner hill, it was a major milestone for us to see him on skis). If you have kids with unique or special needs, bring them to Rocking Horse! I especially want to mention some staff- Cindy and Vinnie in the main dining room were fantastic servers. Our oldest son has Down syndrome and was able to participate in EVERY activity! The staff was understanding and inclusive. Despite some grumbling when we arrived, the boys all enjoyed themselves. Our boys are older (19, 17, 15) so we were worried they might not have a good time. Incredible customer service and activities for EVERYONE! My wife and I booked a short holiday break stay with an emphasis on winter sports and horseback riding. this place is what family vacations are meant to be! … We cannot wait to go back again next year and make more fun memories. One guy said he's come every year for over 25 years! That says a lot. What impressed me so much was how many guests we met who told us they come back here year after year.

I was also worried that the food would not be great, but it was truly amazing too! The facility was beautiful and super clean and it just felt very cozy and warm. Because it is all-inclusive, it ended up being WAY cheaper than anywhere else we've gone before for our annual Christmas vacation. But I was so impressed when we arrived! My daughter and husband went on three horseback rides each day, which that alone would have cost a fortune at most other places. At first, when I made the reservation, I thought it seemed a bit pricey and I was skeptical about how many activities it would really have. I couldn't believe it, since it was winter and the off season, but we never felt bored for four days! I was happy that our youngest could participate in everything too, as many places don't have much for kids that age. There was SO much to do there for all of our kids, from our youngest (5) to our oldest (14). Joe the entertainment guy was hilarious and so much fun.
ROCKING HORAE PROFESSIONAL
Otherwise, every single staff member we encountered was super helpful, polite, professional and cheerful. The only con of the entire few days we spent here was the very first horse wrangler that my daughter had was a bit grumpy (but maybe he just had a bad day). this place is just amazing! Our family all loved it so much we even booked for next year before we left (and we NEVER go the same place twice).
